Olivia was introduced to the Higher Education team as she wanted to apply for a music degree at the Royal College of Music and specialise in Harp. This is an exceptionally competitive programme, and she had no knowledge of the application system involved so we worked hard to help Olivia to take all the right steps and really stand out as a candidate. We discussed her reasons for wanting to study in the UK and we also went through all her practical performances and experiences that would support her application – an audition was an important element of the application process.  Through regular meetings with our subject specialist, we were able to help Olivia to explain her reasons for wanting to pursue a music degree as well as excelling in the audition.  

Olivia had all the practical experiences of performing all over the globe, but originally, she was not able to articulate her needs and wants to why this course was important to her, so this was a key area for our support. The application process had an early October deadline, which Olivia met with ease due to her proactive and positive approach, followed by a potential audition in early November. Very quickly after her audition, Olivia was made an offer to study at RCM, conditional upon the completion of her current curriculum and 6.5 in IELTS.
